King Solomon, as we know him, is the writer of the book of Song of Songs, Proverbs and Ecclesiastes in the bible making him the wisest man of his time. Have you ever wondered who he is in his younger years? Worry no more because this movie is here to cater your curiosity!
We’ve all been through this stage- doing silly things for silly reasons and King Solomon is not exempted to this. Who says he hadn’t done stupid actions when you are in love like setting free a demon just to capture it again and be the bravest person ever lived? Yes, he did that to impress the most beautiful lady in their place, Bilquiz! Things got really complicated that he needed to go to a certain place where he met Na’ama that later on became his wife. The devil that he freed was back in chains because he listened to the old ones.
With this, the lesson is learned. You cannot please everyone but there will be someone that will appreciate what you are doing. Listen to the old ones because most of the time, disobeying them leads to chaos.
On the other hand, if you are a big fan of Disney movies, you will get a little bit off with the characters’ design. Solomon’s face has too sharp edges, Na’ama has a beautiful face but too elongated neck as well as Bilquiz’. The thing is, the animation is made thoroughly that you wouldn’t notice these details. Also, the colors and the movements compliment each other. A great work for a rookie, indeed.
It is a bonus that this movie showcased how traditional Israelis’ wedding goes- by granting a groom’s wish or if there are more than one suitor available for the princess they have to fight each other with a weapon chosen by the princess.
All in all, the movie is great for kids especially if you want your younger siblings to know biblical stories. For adults, it will be an inspiration for us to study and dig deeper the prophets’ life in the bible.
