A ‘rare’ total lunar eclipse painted the night sky into a creepy crimson-copper color over the night of January 20 to 21. North and South America, Western Europe, and Africa witnessed the unusual phenomenon called Super Blood Wolf Moon.
Three occurrence—Wolf Moon, Blood Moon and Super Moon will happen all at the same time. As it is said not to happen again until 2021, many astronomers and sky gazers showed much interest in this experience.
Even the bible has it say about this occurrence, hence, many apocalyptic conspiracies including a Christian preacher stated that this year’s dazzling Super Blood Moon is the harbinger of Doom’s Day.
In the book of Joel and Revelations, the presence of a Blood moon is an apocalyptic sign from the heavens.
According to an Evangelical Pastor Paul Begley, dubbed as being a crackpot in apocalypse, the bible tells how important the Blood moon is.
It is said that from the Book of Joel 2:31 "The Sun shall be turned into darkness, and the Moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.”, thus, Pastor Begley stated that this is kind of an omen wherein things will happen in the following years.
Other apocalyptic conspiracies listed that “End of the World” didn’t happen last 2012 but in 202, because the next Super Blood Moon will happen again in 2021.
Is it really a harbinger of the end times, or it is just a spectacular astronomical occurrence?
Last year, July 28, the Philippines got to see the blood moon that lasted for almost two hours. It appeared in Asia, Antarctica, Australasia, Europe, Africa, East of South America, and lower areas of Russia.
Filipinos have several superstitions when the blood moon appears. Some believe it makes the animals wild, for it means the end of the world, and that it could make volcanoes erupt, trigger earthquakes, and make big storms. Some also say it’s the perfect time for couples who have reproduction problems, because it ‘could help’ them.
