All the viewers wanted was the “Sweet Victory” performance from Spongebob Squarepants, and they didn’t get it and felt betrayed watching the Super Bowl with Maroon 5.
Super Bowl Halftime Shows has been one of the greatest spectacles on TV and always has the highest rating.
Performers are always anticipated by a lot of fans, in which some of the artists who performed were Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Black Eyed Peas, Prince, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga and a lot more.
This year, the band Maroon 5 was up to light up the stage with their songs but now recognized as the worst halftime performance. In the video uploaded by the official channel of NFL, the performance currently has 850,000 dislikes over 122 k likes.
Even the New Yorker called the performance as “artless spectacle.”
“Mostly, this year’s show felt cursed even before it began,” an article from the New York Times by Amanda Petrusich stressed.

Also, many fans were angered by not playing the “Sweet Victory” in full in honor of the cartoon’s creator Stephen Hillenburg.
Meanwhile, Maroon 5 gave its reaction regarding the people’s despise over their performance through Instagram.
Posting two photos of the stadium lit up with the words “One Love”, Adam went posted.
“When we accepted the responsibility to perform at the SBHTS, I took out my pen and just wrote. Some of the words that came to me in that moment eventually made their way onto the incredible lanterns that flew high and low tonight.”

Moreover, the band will arrive in the Philippines for their Filipino fans on March 5 at the Mall of Asia Arena for Adam-led band’s “Red Pill Blues Tour.”
