Twitter blew up again on Tuesday, February 12, when Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Melissa Fumero, who plays Amy Santiago, officially announces the much requested and much awaited guesting of Hamilton star and superfan Lin-Manuel Miranda in the show.
“It’s happening Nine Niners. It’s finally happening!!!” said Fumero in a tweet.
Miranda then responded quoting the tweet through his wife’s twitter account expressing his excitement for his guest cameo.
The Hamilton creator is set to appear as David Santiago, one of the seven brothers of Detective Santiago. He’ll play as a rival of Amy during an episode with the title “The Golden Child,” reports Entertainment Weekly.

Fans then also expressed their delight and anticipation for the episode and also remarked the fact that they overlooked a clue to this terrific occurrence. Months before, a picture circulated on social media that shows Miranda on the set of the show together with Fumero in the background. The photo went unnoticed by fans and the show managed to avoid the would-have-been major spoiler.
Last spring, the fandom took a rather depressing turn when Fox canceled the show. The biggest stars including Miranda, Mark Hamill, Seth Meyers, Sean Astin, and Guillermo Del Toro publicly complained and lead the vanguard of angry fans in twitter to renew the said show.
Twenty-four hours later and NBC resurrected the Emmy-winning comedy for its 6th season and they took all the credit for it, dubbing themselves as the “Guardians of the 99.”
