Mt.Balagbag is located in the borderline of San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan and Rizal. It is a good destination because it is only two hours away from the metro. From anywhere along EDSA, just ride a bus going to Tungko. After that, ride a jeep that is bound to Licao-licao and there you go, you’re already on the foot of the mountain.
If you are a beginner, then this trekking experience is just the right thing that you should accomplished first. It will only take two to three hours (depending on your pace) to be on the peak. The trail ia also well established so you won’t be lost while on the way.
Not only the trail is easy but also the residents there are friendly to everyone who they meet along the way. They will welcome you with “Ingat kayo paakyat” and greetings such as “good morning” and “good afternoon”.
Adding to the good things mentioned above, the travel expenses are cheap. Approximately, your 300 pesos is enough for back and forth transportation, to pay for necessary payments and your lunch.
So, pack those cap, long sleeves top, jogging pants and your rubber shoes ’cause the adventure is already waiting for you!
