Prior to releasing his upcoming debut solo album Sing to Me Instead, Tony winner and Broadway star of Dear Evan Hansen, Ben Platt has released the music video for Temporary Love, the fourth track from the album on March 8, Friday.

Directed by Nick Lieberman, the video shows scenes of the DEH star pacing empty rooms filled with images of couples of all ages, genders, and races sharing tender embraces.

As mentioned before by Platt, he plans to delve deeper into personal territory on the Album, citing various singers such as Adele, James Taylor and Joni Mitchell as influences.

“The last few songs talk about bigger things. The idea behind it is that someone who had gone through all of these romantic experiences, good and bad, might have a better outlook on bigger questions like mortality and family. That it all allows you to zoom out,” said Platt.

Sing to Me Instead is not out until Friday, March 29 but the theater actor has already released 4 music videos to accompany the tracks “Bad Habit,” “Ease My Mind,” and “Grow as We Go.”

Although Platt has lately been focused on music, his acting career is not on hiatus as he’ll appear in a new Netflix comedy series “The Politician” along with Jessica Lange and Gwyneth Paltrow.
