Era of Virtual Shopping

Long and gone are the days where we wait in line for the cashier or the fitting room. Be gone, the days of driving around in a cramped parking lot in search of a empty space. Wave goodbye too to the annoying sales ladies shoving their promos on socks at our faces. When they say the future is here, I was kinda hoping for flying cars and being able to exit the YouTube tab but still have the video playing continuously. But instead, we got virtual shopping.

Finally, long queue lines are in the past and we can literally shop from anywhere. Though this is convenience written all over, some people cannot fathom the idea of clicking something you like on your phone and then receiving it after a few days. Doesn’t it sound exactly like Christmas?
Though part of innovation means something gets left behind, this revolutionary new way of spending money has become the reason for bankruptcy for some retail stores. Those who failed to cope up with the trend suffered a major blow in their sales. Some people still preferred the traditional way of shopping wherein they consider the whole experience as therapeutic rather than sitting at home.

Payless, the shoe store is one of the affected stores as they filed for another bankruptcy. Other brands like H&M learned to utilize the internet and decided to build an app of their own to further assist their customers in shopping.

We live in a fast-paced world, the time our biggest problem, as technology progresses on, we don’t really have a choice but to follow its stride and hopefully get the hang of it because when technology never pauses for anyone.
