We all know that here in PUP, students are not mandated to have their uniform. To mention some of the few who wear uniform, it includes BS Education, BS Psychology, BS Accountancy, and BS Tourism students. But still, the majority are those who wear civilian clothes, and College of Communication students are part of those.
Honestly, I really find it favorable for us students because we have the freedom to wear anything we are comfortable with. When it’s raining, we can wear shorts and slippers so that going to school would be hassle-free. When it’s hot, we can choose any clothes convenient for us. It’s really an advantage especially to those who live very far from the university, because it’s much easier to move when you are not irritated with what you’re wearing.
However, sometimes it goes to the extent that the students no longer look presentable. Some looks like they’re off for a party, and some look like they just got up from the bed. I know that to dress freely is a way of expressing ourselves as well, and that it is nothing to be concerned of because it doesn’t affect the academic performance of a student. But we can atleast consider that it is still school we are going to.
I am also for civilian clothes rather than uniform, but I guess there must be restrictions. We must still dress appropriately, for as we might adapt this manner until we are already working. We can always choose convenient clothes and still be decent and pleasant-looking at the same time.
