PUP’s ID system is such a nightmare. I’ve been heading back and forth for countless times at the Charlie del Rosario building to get update on when the office would bother to entertain students who are in dire need of their identification cards to be released. But in PUP, you really need the longest you could possibly have. For everytime I used to go there, again, I never fail their undying response that we will post when on the PUP website. I think that it is really required to be with not just the students, but all of the personnel of a certain community. It is required for reasons of emergency and as a valid identification, so everyone should have it. I lost my ID since March last year. And I already printed the form for renewal downloadable in the PUP Website. And so that summer, I went to PUP with hope that I will get my new ID. But of course, I failed. They said that the machine was broke and there is no replacement yet. As I have asked on when would they possibly continue, they answered that maybe in August. So I came back not just in August, butmany times on the last few months of last year. One time, a personnel in charge at the office showed me the 5 new ID printers, unopened inside of the boxes. That gave me a glint of hope, that finally, I could get my ID renewal. He said that for us to know on when would they allow the students to go there for renewal, they would send letters to the colleges of PUP stating the schedules varying from each college of the university. As I’m writing this, it’s still a negative. No letters have been sent to our college, nor to any other colleges in the university. No announcements on the PUP website, no advisories from them. I don’t know when would that day will come, but patience I guess is really a virtue.
