In addition to the number of deaths, 20 were seriously injured in the two mass shootings in the New Zealand city of Christchurch. The attacks targeted two mosques and a total of 48 victims including children were brought to the Christchurch hospital for treatment.
Three men and one woman were in custody. One 28 year-old man had been charged with murder and will appear in court on Saturday morning local time. The police are still trying to understand the involvement in the crime of the two others.
