If you’re experiencing one of these, then this movie is right for you! Also, this movie offers us lessons that you can apply in your daily life. Here are some:

1. Preparing on time is better than beating the red lights. We’ve all been there. Doing the things we’re supposed to do when it’s just a day away from its deadline. We are too pre-occupied by the things we considered as important things but the truth is, we are just consuming our time doing good-for-nothing stuff like logging on to our social networking sites account for hours! Let me tell you this, doing your things on time is a big relief and it’ll give you a good night sleep.

2. Eventually, you have to get rid of your parents’ shadow for you to shine. In this movie, Sierra’s father is known as a famous writer while her mother is an inspirational speaker. It is really hard living, or should I say, hiding under your parents’ pants especially if there’s no way to escape it. Just like what his father said at the end of the movie, we are unique creatures that leave unique footprints on people’s life. Just know your uniqueness, hold it, own it and confidence will surely follow.

3. You can’t please everyone. Your ideal picture of beauty down to your way of thinking is different from what is in other’s minds. Always keep in mind that chaos is necessary to make you appreciate order. There will be arguments and sometimes, it is the root of bullying- because you are different from their standards. Yes, you can’t please everyone but learning to love yourself lets other people love you no matter who you are.

4. You are the most illogical version of yourself when you are in love. Sierra had to pretend that she is Veronica, the girl she hated the most in school, to be noticed by a hot quarterback, Jamey. Thank goodness, it turned out well but most cases, it wouldn’t. Just like how a saying goes, Love has reasons that reasons can’t understand. Don’t let the heart do all the thinking because that is the time that you will lose your sane mind. Just be careful with what you are doing because not everything is going to be in line with what you are thinking.

5. Life is not a competition of who is the winner or loser. We all have a different definition of how winning a good life. Some may say that he/she is a winner when he/she had built a good house for his/her family. On the other hand, some may say that he/she is a winner when he/she has a seven-digit bank account, the newest luxury cars and living in an exclusive subdivision. Success is subjective to what you are thinking. As long as you don’t have to take advantage of other’s weakness and you’re happy with what you are doing then you’re doing great already.

With the lessons stated above, this movie is not only good for your incoming college life but also for the life ahead after that. Hope these lessons will help you in the future!
