Social media such as Facebook and Twitter are now being dominated with it, even people who became memes slowly paved their way on becoming an internet celebrity, thanks to their creative and funny contribution. But how does a meme slowly become an instrument on cyberbullying whose only purpose is to bring smiles on our faces?

Kris Aquino, a famous multi-media celebrity is making a noise in social media together with his son Bimby, turning as memes that are posted in social media. Many people were making funny captions on their photos based on their luxurious lifestyle. While some people are enjoying and having it shared for countless times, some fans are not quite happy about it. Bullying comes in many forms and some people are becoming too harsh on what they post about this family. It wasn’t even Bimby’s fault if he was born to a wealthy family as what John Vin, a concerned citizen had posted to his Facebook account about how people are becoming bullies without them even knowing it.

“As much as we condemn/disagree with people cyberbullying others maybe we’ve looked past the fact that our actions are becoming more like them. Maybe we’ve been blinded by the entertainment we get out of making someone a laughing stock, not knowing that by sharing and sharing these memes on social media it makes us one of the “Bullies” we claim to hate.” says Jahzeel Fane Angon on her Facebook post about how dismayed she was on people becoming hypocrites saying that some people don’t want to tolerate bullying but can’t see their own actions regarding on this matter about Cyberbullying.

As netizens, it’s only a matter of how we could be more responsible and sensitive on posting or sharing things that we know could affect other peoples lives.
